Special Thanks to Senior Officer Gregory Sokoloski from the HPD

The Texas State Horse Council would like to thanks to Senior Officer Gregory Sokoloski, with the Houston Police Department for the wonderful demonstration with Texas Star, for showing us around the HPD barn and just telling us what goes on around the facility and how the DSCN15651police department takes care of their horses.  We learned that not one mounted patrol horse has shoes on their feet and Officer Sokoloski spoke about the training methods HPD used for their horses. The HPD Mounted Police Patrol is the second largest in the country.

What an impressive facility HPD has for their horses. Houston is truly fortunate to have a facility and a mounted patrol such as this.  We all had an incredible time.
